Transition from Year 6 into Year 7

Join the ASCL Year 6 into Year 7 Transition Project

One professional to another for the benefit of the child

ASCL and the Open Data Project have built a web portal for schools to streamline their Year 6 into Year 7 transition. SixIntoSeven will be relaunched in spring 2021 for primary and secondary schools to communicate pupil progress and use their professional judgement in place of SATs and formal assessments.

Visit the Open Data Project website to find out more.

“ASCL are unleashing the power that data has in helping us support children.  The data will be readily accessible and our teachers can focus on teaching, planning and feeding back.”

David Waugh – Head Teacher, Poynton High School and Vice President, ASCL.

ASCL has supported the development of the SixIntoSeven transition web portal as part of the Open Data Project for Schools.

Secure data from schools’ management systems will be used to share professional judgements about the progress of year 6 pupils to enable secondary schools to make informed decisions about curriculum planning and pastoral care.
