Year 6 to Year 7 Transition

July 2020

ASCL, askEddi and the Open Data Project are building a data sharing solution to ease pupil transition from Year 6 to Year 7.

The summer term is key for transition for Year 6 to Year 7 and this year is no exception. The difference is the restrictions on ways that teachers can assess progress and share information, plus limited opportunities for key learning and activities such as induction days and meeting new classmates.

Without KS2 SATs as a Year 6 attainment benchmark, we know that our members are very concerned about how they will record and receive information about individual pupils to ensure they have the best possible start to their high school experience.

As part of the Open Data Project, we are creating a web portal that allows primary teachers to make a professional judgement for each pupil, which will be shared securely with their destination secondary school. Read more and register your interest now: Year 6 to Year 7 Transition app
