Covid-19 X Code attendance tracking

askEddi customers and members of the Open Data Project for Schools can now use Attendance Matters to see the effect that Covid-19 is having on attendance both at pupil and cohort level. Click here to book your place on our free online webinar to find out more.

We know that managing attendance can be a laborious process involving spreadsheets and data exports, and the ambiguous new use of the existing Code X is causing issues for data managers, teachers and school leaders.

Many attendance systems aren’t configured to isolate these X Code absences as part of day-to-day absence reporting.

Our team have been working hard over the past few months to ensure that your school attendance data takes these X Codes into account.

To use this new X Code filter simply click “include X Codes” in the top right hand corner whenever the option appears.

Simply tick “Include X Codes” to add all X Code sessions to your totals

The updated Attendance Matters user guide in the Knowledge Base has full details on how to use this new feature.

The X Code filter is available to turn on and off at school, years, registration groups and individual pupil level. The schools who have been involved in testing this new feature say that it is saving them many hours, especially when it comes to submitting their daily Covid-19 absence returns.

Dashboard updates:

You’ll also notice that your personal dashboard looks a little bit different when you log in to askEddi. We have added time-saving buttons to help you to navigate straight to ‘All Years’ as an overview of your whole school, and a breakdown of each year group.

Book your place on one of our free, live webinars here to see the new dashboard and X Code filters in action.
