AskEddi endorsed by the Association of School and College Leaders

AskEddi, the whole school improvement platform, has been endorsed by the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) as a technology partner, opening up the Open Data Project to their 19,000 members. The askEddi platform, which makes school data easy to manage and interpret, forms a key part of ASCL’s Open Data Project for Schools which was launched at their recent regional conferences.

ASCL and AskEddi have been collaborating on the Open Data Project for Schools (ODPS) throughout 2019, working with schools across the North West of England to pioneer a new way of recording attendance data, sharing and comparing the results across the schools network.

Duncan Baldwin, Deputy Director of Policy, has been leading at ASCL on the ODPS and explained why askEddi are the ideal provider for this project:

“The Association of School and College Leaders represents over 19,000 members across the country, typically they are head teachers, principals, deputy and assistant heads and school business leaders, and they work in all sorts of schools with a wide variety of challenges. Our members belong to ASCL for personal and professional support, because of what we stand for and the way that we represent them.

“AskEddi have got lots of experience using data technology, they are accredited and they have been very supportive in our ambition with the ODPS. They have worked well with all of the partner schools who have been involved in piloting this piece of work and they share our vision about what we’re trying to achieve.”

AskEddi Founder and CEO Brendan Nel added:

Persistent absence is a challenge that all schools face and we know that if a child is not in school then they are not learning. Through our work with ASCL and the Open Data Project we’re giving schools back ownership of their attendance data and helping them use it to make a big difference to school life.

“As a UK based EdTech company, we understand the sector and work closely with school leaders, teachers and data managers to make sure our platform is delivering the outcomes that they need.”
